We designed these bulbs to be compact and punchy. The wattage and voltage are matched to deliver a rapid thermal response in a tight cabinet footprint. High power density is the whole idea—fast ramp-up. But that also means the surrounding hardware has to be ready for the heat. Even the size matters. The length and diameter are chosen to drop into standard mounting setups while giving you the right heat distribution. Shorter envelopes cut warm-up time, sure—but they also mean you need tighter clearances. Plan your bracket and reflector layout early so the beam hits the target evenly, with no hot spots.
What’s Inside: Halogen, Quartz, and an R7s Connection
Inside, you’ve got a halogen element inside a quartz envelope. Quartz handles the thermal shock of rapid on/off cycling way better than soft glass, and it transmits shortwave infrared cleanly. The halogen cycle keeps the filament stable over time, so you don’t get the output drop you often see with basic incandescent designs. For hooking it up, the R7s connector is the practical choice. It’s a secure, two-contact setup that’s common in linear halogen fixtures. That means simpler wiring and an easy drop-in replacement when you’re servicing existing disinfection cabinets.
Making It Work in Real Automated Systems
Automated disinfection cabinets live and die on precise temperature control. Our fast-response halogen bulbs hit operating temperature quickly, so the control system can run short, repeatable disinfection windows with minimal overshoot. But there’s a trade-off: fast cycling concentrates heat. So the cabinet needs solid cooling and thermal shielding. Spec the bulb to match the cycle profile, then design the enclosure to handle the heat density. Do that, and you get disinfection performance that’s reliable enough for production work—day after day.
